BI REPORTS DEVELOPER – WASHINGTON, TYNE & WEAR

What you’ll be doing:

Key responsibilities

  • Consulting with each business area to gather reporting requirements, triaging them and assessing priorities .
  • Liaising with the functional consultants to ensure the required business logic is captured and applied, and the most appropriate source entities are used.
  • Liaising with the App Dev Team to ensure the required data is made available for extraction in reports.
  • Refining the requirements and establishing good practice in terms of the definition of ‘Ready for Development and definition of ‘Done’
  • Owning and developing the requirements to completion.
  • Administering and supporting the Reporting platform/service .
  • Managing key stakeholder communication, ensuring relOwning and developing the requirements to completion.
  • Contacts are up to date with business impacting incidents and progress of investigation.
  • Provides “Hyper Care” support during project go lives/cut overs.
  • Creation of knowledge base articles to assist both support and end users with resolving reporting platform issues.
  • Delivery of training plans and training materials to improve End User knowledge. Including the formation of a Reporting User Forum.

What you’ll be able to demonstrate:

Skills and experience

  • Strong track record of Reporting Development experience, and exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, including ELT, data modelling, data marts.
  • Advanced SQL skills and comfortable using DAX.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to visualise meaningful insights, as opposed to just displaying the raw data.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure, Amazon S3 and GCP.
  • Able to implement row level security on data.
  • A good understanding of the overall Microsoft stack (Power Apps, Power Automate, Reporting etc)
  • Very comfortable with working in Azure DevOps, and liaising with the D365 Dev team when required.
  • Proven written and oral communications skills and strong interpersonal skills that can be executed credibly to inspire confidence.
  • A problem solver with a pragmatic and tenacious attitude to seek out resolutions in a collaborative manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
