We currently have a fabulous opportunity in our Logistics team for an Optimisation & Continuous Improvement Manager. As Optimisation & Continuous Improvement Manager, you will oversee, develop and execute process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across Logistics operations within END. The role will play an important part in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the execution of the divisional value creation plan, and in embedding CI methodologies and their supporting frameworks, to deliver optimisation/CI within Logistics.

The role will support cross-divisional stakeholder groups, helping to identify opportunities to reduce waste, enhance customer experience, and drive efficiency, effectiveness and economy across all operations.

It will also play a key part in driving our ESG agenda, working with both internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving our performance in these areas.

What you’ll be doing:

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overseeing and managing the operational process innovation and continuous improvement programme within Logistics.
  • Collaborating with all Logistics managers to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborating with 3PL partners to ensure END. objectives are embedded within their operations and reported upon accordingly.
  • To identify and deliver improvement activities across Logistics through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking
  • To work with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change
  • To lead and facilitate process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
  • To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working
  • To identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system
  • To assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy
  • To take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls
  • To elicit requirements and drive process change using staff interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis
  • To work with the broader Logistics team to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements
  • To actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • To ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported, and managed
  • To work with END. PMO to set up a program and manage in accordance with END. company transformation plan.
  • To complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects.
  • Leadership and development of Logistics teams in relation to CI/operational excellence.
  • Support and contribute to overall Logistics strategy and collaborate with peers within the senior leadership team within this division.

What you’ll be able to demonstrate:

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing volume operations
  • Proven experience in leading and managing change and driving efficiency into complex operational environments
  • Understanding and application of continuous improvement concepts (e.g. 6 sigma/LEAN/Kaizen and/or other industry applicable/relevant techniques).
  • Solid understanding of distribution processes and systems.
  • Experience of work measurement and continuous improvement methodologies in high volume, high paced retail distribution environments
  • Demonstrable current insight into industry best practice and trends across Productivity, WFM and DC to store supply chain improvements
  • Strong communication and influencing skills working collaboratively with internal stakeholders including peers, senior leaders and team members and external stakeholders where required to achieve functional objectives.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data from both internal and external sources, understanding the root cause of problems and development of solutions using judgement in complex and unknown situations.
  • Excellent data management and reporting skills
  • Ability to exchange ideas and information effectively in a clear, concise and straightforward way.
  • Ability to build, evaluate, and deploy multisite productivity models
