JUNIOR ART DIRECTOR - FULL TIME - LONDON OR WASHINGTON, TYNE & WEAR

Who We Are:

Inspired by a shared love of fashion, sneakers and the surrounding culture, END. was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne back in 2005. Our first UK store brought together a curated mix of celebrated designers and emerging brands, many of which were previously hard to find outside of London. From day one, we’ve nurtured a community of like-minded individuals united by a love for this ever-evolving culture.

Today, END. serves over 2 million customers worldwide through a seamless blend of online and physical retail. Our industry-leading stores in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Milan reflect our commitment to innovation, influence, and inspiration. We offer a carefully curated selection of menswear, womenswear, sneakers, homeware, and lifestyle products to a global audience.

At the heart of END. is our customer and it’s our people and culture that make the difference. With over 600 employees across our HQ, offices, and retail locations, our customer-first mindset continues to guide everything we do.

The Role:

END. is looking for a Junior Art Director to join our Creative team and support the Head ofCreative in shaping how the END. brand comes to life.
You will help develop and execute creative ideas across brand campaigns, editorial stories, social content, events, partnerships and retail experiences. Working from initial research and concept development through to production and final delivery, you will help ensure that every expression of END. feels relevant, distinctive and culturally informed. Social will be an important part of the role. You will understand how audiences discover and engage with content across different platforms, and help translate wider creative ideas into platform-native work. You will be comfortable capturing content yourself when appropriate, identifying culturally relevant formats and ensuring END.’s social output feels current without simply following trends. This is a hands-on role for an emerging creative with a strong visual point of view and a deep interest in fashion and contemporary culture. You will be equally comfortable researching an idea, developing a mood board, refining a presentation, contributing on set, capturing social content and reviewing final imagery. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Creative, contribute meaningfully to high-profile projects and develop into a confident art director.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

  • Support the Head of Creative in developing and executing the creative vision for END.
  • Contribute ideas for brand campaigns, editorial stories, partnerships, launches, events and cultural activations.
  • Research developments across fashion, art, photography, design, music, social media and wider culture, turning relevant insights into creative ideas.
  • Create moodboards, creative treatments, visual references, layouts and presentation decks.
  • Help build clear visual narratives that connect creative ideas with END.’s brand, audience and commercial objectives.
  • Translate creative concepts across campaigns, editorial, social media, film, physical retail, events and other brand touchpoints.
  • Develop social-first ideas and creative formats that are native to the behaviours, conventions and audiences of different platforms.
  • Help shape how campaign and editorial ideas extend into relevant, engaging social content.
  • Capture high-quality, reactive content using mobile and lightweight production setups when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to create behind-the-scenes, event, talent and culturally responsive content around END.’s wider creative activity.
  • Stay informed about emerging platforms, creators, formats and audience behaviours, bringing relevant opportunities to the Creative team.
  • Work with social, video and marketing teams to ensure content is creatively strong, platform-appropriate and aligned with the wider brand direction.
  • Support the Head of Creative with presentations, creative reviews and communication of concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers and strategists to develop joined-up ideas from concept through execution.
  • Support productions throughout pre-production, shoot execution and post-production.
  • Contribute on set, working with photographers, directors, stylists, producers, talent and other creative partners.
  • Help develop shot lists, casting references, location and set-design direction, styling guidance and social-content requirements.
  • Review image and film selects, edits, crops, grading and retouching to ensure the final work reflects the original creative intent.
  • Take increasing ownership of smaller creative projects and productions under the guidance of the Head of Creative.
  • Ensure work remains consistent with END.’s identity while continuing to evolve its visual language.
  • Manage several briefs and deadlines simultaneously without compromising creative quality or attention to detail.
  • Bring fresh ideas, references and an informed cultural point of view to the wider Creative team.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Approximately three or more years’ experience in art direction, graphic design, fashion content or a related creative role.
  • Experience within fashion, culture, publishing, retail or a creative agency would be beneficial.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating visual taste, conceptual thinking and accomplished execution.
  • Evidence of developing or delivering creative work for social platforms.
  • A strong understanding of how platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube function, including the different formats, behaviours and creative conventions within each.
  • The ability to think beyond resizing campaign assets and create ideas designed specifically for social audiences.
  • Confidence capturing strong photo and video content using a phone or lightweight camera setup.
  • An understanding of framing, pacing, hooks, sequencing and storytelling for short-form content.
  • A genuine interest in fashion, streetwear, luxury and the brands and communities connected to END.
  • A strong understanding of contemporary culture and how fashion intersects with art, music, sport, design and technology.
  • A discerning eye for photography, film, composition, styling, typography, colour and imagemaking.
  • Experience supporting campaigns, editorial productions, content shoots or cultural projects.
  • An understanding of how a central creative idea can be adapted across different channels and formats without losing its integrity.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with presentation software; motion, film-editing or Figma skills would be advantageous.
  • Clear visual, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond positively when briefs or priorities change.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and an openness to direction, feedback and continued development.
  • Is curious about what is happening in fashion and culture and can distinguish meaningful shifts from short-lived trends.
  • Naturally understands social media, creator culture and how different communities communicate online.
  • Is an active observer of changing platform behaviours and can translate those observations into relevant creative opportunities.
  • Knows when to respond quickly and instinctively, and when a piece of content requires a more considered production approach.
  • Has a strong visual point of view while remaining open to collaboration.
  • Can interpret high-level creative direction and translate it into thoughtful, well-crafted work.
  • Thinks conceptually but cares equally about execution and detail.
  • Understands the relationship between creative ambition, brand relevance and commercial purpose.
  • Contributes positively to a collaborative and ambitious creative environment.
  • Is eager to learn, take ownership and grow into a confident art director.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working for a fashion, lifestyle or culturally led brand.
  • Experience assisting on fashion, editorial or campaign productions.
  • Experience developing social-first concepts or capturing live, behind-the-scenes and event content.
  • Hands-on experience with mobile editing tools and short-form video workflows.
  • Experience working with photographers, directors, stylists, set designers, producers, creators and post-production partners.
  • An awareness of casting, locations, set design and production processes.
  • Motion-design or video-editing skills.
  • Awareness of emerging creative technologies and how they can support research, visualisation and production.

Besides a competitive salary and an engaging and inclusive work place we can offer you:
