Tax Accountant/Analyst - Full-time or Part-Time, Washington

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Asssitant in our Finance team. Reporting to the International Tax Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the International Tax Manager and Head of Tax with ensuring that UK and international tax compliance is complete, accurate and timely and assisting with UK and international projects including transfer pricing and structuring.

What you’ll be doing:

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with UK and international corporate tax compliance (annual filing requirements and payments, including collating supporting information.)
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax reporting calculations and disclosures.
  • Assisting with tax relief claims, including R&D / capital allowances and other opportunities.
  • Assisting with and helping to manage filings and reconciliation processes for VAT, GST, Sales Tax and other Indirect Tax returns in the UK and overseas territories.
  • Assisting with any additional overseas filing requirements.
  • Supporting Customs Duty initiatives and liaison with HMRC on Customs related matters.
  • Assisting with managing tax audits and Tax Authority queries for UK and overseas entities.
  • Assisting with managing the Group’s tax governance including maintaining and updating tax risk registers and supporting the Senior Accounting Officer workstream.
  • Identifying and supporting process improvements to support scalability.
  • Providing general support for the senior finance team and International Tax Manager/Head of Tax on a range of projects such as corporate structuring, systems implementation and other ad hoc tax and business projects.
  • Providing day to day assistance to all parts of the business, stakeholders and tax authorities as required.

What you’ll be able to demonstrate:

Skills and experience

  • CTA or ATT qualified or part qualified or qualified by relevant experience in corporation and/or VAT.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to manipulate and analyse high volumes of transactional data with ease.
  • Excellent IT skills (D365 knowledge desirable).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Results oriented, demonstrates initiative, adaptable and flexible.
