INTERNATIONAL TAX MANAGER – FULL-TIME, NORTH SHIELDS

We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Finance team for an International Tax Manager. As International Tax Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring international tax compliance is complete, accurate and timely in line with the main responsibilities/ accountabilities and assisting the Head of Tax with international project work, transfer pricing and structuring. You will provide leadership across the function and Company, creating the environment for everyone to thrive and deliver great results, building trust, being inspirational, enabling change and practicing empathy. What you’ll be doing:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Tax deliver on the tax strategy and oversee its implementation and roll out.
  • Provide day to day assistance to all parts of the business, stakeholders and tax authorities as required with a focus on the group’s international operations
  • Ensure the accuracy of the group’s tax position, tax returns and compliance (corporation taxes, VAT and indirect taxes), manage tax audits and queries, assist with accounting/ reporting
  • Manage planning to ensure tax compliance with applicable legislation and regulations
  • Forecast and make tax instalment payments.
  • Ensure the company complies with overseas tax filing requirements.
  • Raise awareness and evaluate the impact of changes in tax legislation or developments
  • Assist in ad-hoc tax projects (such as corporate structuring and system implementation)

What you’ll be able to demonstrate:

Skills and experience

  • Is a technical ‘expert’ in their tax and payroll field and as such requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of the discipline. Operates at a senior level, with autonomy to make independent decisions to achieve business targets. Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for performance improvement. Demonstrates creativity in applying solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the function and how this contributes to achieving the overall business objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to commercial objectives of the Company.
  • Demonstrates leadership and mentors more junior colleagues. Establishes own milestones and deadlines, team objectives and delegates responsibilities. Has responsibility for the work of others and the allocation of resources.
  • Performs complex professional or financial activities. Strong analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complex situations. Looks to remove complexity where possible to focus on priorities. Expert in their professional area and applies this knowledge to the activities of the Company to continuously raise the bar.
  • Has significant impact on the function’s overall direction and performance which has a direct impact on the overall Company performance. Develops strong partnerships internally and externally to positively impact the customer.
  • Has a good knowledge of international taxation (corporation tax and VAT)
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, can influence productively in a collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrate and encourage flexible thinking, exercise good judgement and decision making, be comfortable around Executive management
  • Be comfortable and used to working to tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications or extensive practical knowledge gained through experience
  • Be a qualified accountant or similar experience gained in the tax department of an Accountancy Firm or equivalent practical experience in Industry
